Physical treatment with cold and muscle stimulation
Ice 21 is used for physical treatment with cold. Using different electrical waves, it also produces different movements on muscle bundles to get results such as reduction of widespread or local fat, toning and muscle recovery.
Adipose fat cells are sensitive to cold, and at the working temperature of the device they undergo a process of slow and gradual spontaneous emptying called “apoptosis” (programmed cell death). The eliminated lipids, which are at the interstitial level, are excreted from the human body via the liver, gastrointestinal tract and the lymphatic system in approx. 15-20 days.
Necrosis is a form of cell death due to acute stress or cellular trauma, while apoptosis is performed in an orderly and regulated manner, using the life cycle of the organism. For example, blood and epithelial cells are continuously renewed from the stem cell progenitors; but this increase is compensated by a continuous cell death. In one year, the altered cell mass is equal to the mass of the body itself.
During a treatment, Ice 21 reduces the temperature of the plates in a controlled way using a thermostat.
Ice 21‘s area of application is physical therapy using cold and electrostimulation, especially for the reduction of excess localized adiposity and localized lipodystrophy (subcutaneous connective tissue disease due to poor cellular drainage based on weakness in the microvasculature) and tightening.
